Promote school strength & unity
Reconnect alumni with the school/program
Raise funds and award annual scholarships to deserving graduating seniors who plan on furthering their education and continue to participate in athletics at the next level.
Mission:
The purpose of the Oneida City School District’s Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize the accomplishments of the inductees and develop pride in the rich athletic traditions. These role models exemplify Oneida’s commitment to academics, community and athletic excellence.
Eligibility Criteria:
A. Athlete - Attended Oneida City School District and participated in interscholastic athletics, must have graduated 10 years ago by June of the current year
B. Coach - Coached an Oneida City School District team or teams and has been retired for at least 5 years of June of this year
C. Team - Oneida varsity athletic team whose accomplishments have raised the bar and left a legacy on high school athletics at Oneida and Section III Athletics, team accomplishments must have been at least 10 years ago of June of this year
D. Other - Made significant contributions to the student-athletes and the interscholastic athletic department of Oneida City School District, contributions must have been at least 5 years ago as of June of this year
Timeline:
May 1 Nomination deadline
Month of May Selection committee meets to review nominees and establish a slate of candidates
June 1 Candidates are presented to the selection committee
Second Monday of June Selection committee meets to discuss and vote on induction class
June 15 Induction class announced, ceremony information forwarded to the class Fall (September/October) Induction ceremony
